Annual Information Statement by the Income tax department

Here comes another great product from the Government.

📌 Annual Information Statement (AIS) mobile application.

What is AIS ?

📌 It is a comprehensive view of information for a taxpayer displayed in form 26 AS. This information will be useful to autofill the ITR while filing.

It will show

1) Taxes paid / deducted

2) High value transactions

3) Transactions in your demat account

4) FD / Savings account Interests etc.

So, for this 26AS is there then why AIS?

📌 Well, AIS is an extension to form 26 AS, where you can get some additional details and the tax payer has the option to provide feedback on information displayed in AIS ( if the tax payer has any objection on the value shown)

📌 So AIS shows both reported value and modified value ( value after considering tax payers feedback ).

📌 Here after if we want to know, how much taxes we already paid / deducted, refund made / demand raised for the respective financial years, we can directly see in this application itself.

📌 We can use this AIS application along with the 'My I tax" application, which is used to file our Income tax return.
